Investigator College will cease operations at its Goolwa Campus at the end of the 2019 school year.

All students in Reception to Year 6 at the Goolwa Campus are guaranteed places in a consolidated Junior School at the ELC-to-Year-13 Victor Harbor Campus.

Investigator College regrets having to cease the provision of services at its Goolwa Campus.  It was a very difficult decision necessary in the best interests of all students and the sustainability of the College.

The decision follows exhaustive consideration and due diligence, with the educational interests of every child as the priority.  Staff and families at Goolwa were consulted throughout the College Board’s considerations over the past year and were this week informed of the Board’s decision.

The enrolment base in Goolwa means that the best educational outcomes for our students will be best served by consolidating on to a single campus at Victor Harbor.

Throughout 2018, the College Board and Senior Leadership Team explored opportunities, options and strategies to operate beyond 2019.  The Board acknowledges and thanks the staff and many Goolwa families for their enthusiasm and commitment to meet, share ideas and communicate these to the Board.

As communicated at the College’s 2018 Annual General Meeting, the College will honour its commitment to operate the Goolwa Campus in 2019, giving families the opportunity to transition to the Victor Harbor Campus from 2020.

Investigator College will provide a complimentary daily bus link to ensure safe and convenient transport between Goolwa and Victor Harbor.

The Victor Harbor Campus has undergone significant development over the past three years and is equipped with several state-of-the-art facilities not available at Goolwa.  It features refurbished Junior School learning areas, a new Middle School Precinct, the outstanding Senior School and the recently opened world-class Early Learners Centre (“Little Investigators”).  All boast the latest in information and communication technologies.

The College will undertake further developments to ensure that our students in 2020 and beyond enjoy access to the highest standards of teaching and facilities.

This is a significant change for the College.  It ensures sustainability and the best possible learning environment for our students to flourish.  It is consistent with the Board’s commitment to the Mission of the College: Everything we do is an investment in community, wellbeing and the future.’

The Board appreciates that this decision will have an impact on many families. We assure you of our ongoing commitment of care and support to the school community though this change.
