Dear College community

Following an extensive recruitment process which attracted a number of high calibre applicants, I am delighted to announce the appointment of John Robinson as Principal of Investigator College from 2020.

John has been a leader in highly regarded, coeducational schools for some 23 years. Currently Principal of Trinity College North, John was previously Deputy Head of Scotch College and Head of its very successful Mitcham Campus, where enrolments almost doubled during his headship. Prior to this, John was Assistant Principal of St John’s Grammar School.

Well known in the area of wellbeing, John has presented at a number of Positive Education conferences around Australia. He has a particular passion for community engagement, making genuine connections with all stakeholders, assisting students and others to be their best selves. John has expertise in both primary and secondary teaching.

John is married to Cathy, also an Independent School teacher and they have three adult children: Alice (a vet), Lucy (a journalist) and Rosie (a medical student).
John will be visiting the College on Monday 5 August, followed by a series of visits during the remainder of 2019 and is looking forward to getting to know you all.

In the meantime, Investigator College remains in the skilled hands of Acting Principal Andrew Panozzo who will continue as Deputy Head from next year.

I feel confident that Investigator College is embarking on an exciting new era, continuing current momentum whilst seizing an opportunity to set new standards in world-class education.

Yours sincerely

Rachel Elliott
Chairperson, Investigator College Board

A Word From The Acting Principal…

I wish to congratulate Mr John Robinson, who will be our Principal from 2020. The Board undertook a lengthy process to make this appointment and I am sure you will join with me in thanking the Board for their ongoing, thoughtful and diligent stewardship of our fabulous College. On a personal note, I am very excited about 2020, and the community can be assured that I will be meeting regularly with John and our College leaders over the next two terms so that the transition to 2020 is smooth and productive.

I look forward also to continuing in my role as Deputy Principal and Director of Teaching and Learning at the College, and to working closely as a team with John and the leaders of our College. John is a true “people person” and a highly regarded leader; it will be a pleasure and a privilege to support him in the exciting times ahead!

Yours sincerely

Andrew Panozzo
