On Friday 3 May,  Investigator College participated in the SSSSA Open Boys Futsal (Indoor Soccer) competition at Morphett Vale. Being the first time entering this competition it was very difficult to know how our boys would perform against some schools who run specialist Soccer programs. After winning the first two games of the day it was safe to say that we were here to play, with the boys showing some brilliance on the court with sharp passes, strong tackles and superb goals. Benito Catinari kicked off the Gators’ momentum with a hat-trick in the first game, giving the boys confidence moving forward. Ben Sharp and Ethan Johnson also contributed to many goals being scored, who were in turn set up by the midfield consisting of Aedan Boundey, Harry Jones, Joel Sharp and Cameron Gane. A special mention goes to goal keeper Jayden Dunstone who pulled off some amazing saves and courageous dives.

The early afternoon saw a little slump in our game play leading to two losses, however the boys redeemed themselves by winning the next match in a 5-4 thriller. The team only just lost their last game to 2-3 to Hallett Cove who were undefeated all day.

It was a great day with lots of passion and pride and that ‘never give up’ Investigator attitude.
