Our Year 9 students have now completed their Rite Journey Solo challenge as a part of The Rite Journey program. Students have an understanding of the importance of all the Rite Journey challenges, but this Solo Challenge is of great significance as they develop skills in organisation and resilience before and during the overnight camp.
Families were invited to join students out at our Currency Creek site to participate in several ceremonies:
The Return – Students reflected on what they have learned and experienced over the year and celebrate their movement into beginning adulthood.
The Homecoming – A gratitude ceremony and celebration with students, parents/caregivers and mentors.
Students enjoyed a variety of activities together with the group before setting themselves up on their own for the night. During the Solo, students were not permitted to interact.
The Solo challenge concluded with a shared breakfast in the morning, before heading back to school.
What an experience!
