The Investigator open boys’ cricket team headed to Adelaide’s Park 25 to compete against three other teams for the state T20 Championships. They had to defeat Tenison Woods to advance to the playoff for the top spot.

Despite a slow start, Investigator managed to increase their run rate and looked set to score big, but a string of wickets slowed them down, and they finished with 117 runs. Tenison Woods had solid partnerships throughout their innings and proved too strong for Investigator’s bowling, resulting in them missing out on the chance to reach the final.

However, the boys showed resilience and accepted the challenge of bouncing back in their next game against Clare High School. Clare batted first but struggled early on, eventually setting a target of 88 runs. Investigator’s batting was much better in the second game, easily reaching the target and demonstrating that they were the better team overall.

Overall, the boys’ efforts were outstanding and they played with a tremendous team spirit, supporting and encouraging each other on the field. Everyone who took part in the team is to be commended for their achievements, and a big thank you goes out to the parents who supported the boys and Audrey for her help in making it all happen.
