Some of our Year 2s had the wonderful privilege of planting trees at the Tokuremoar Conservation Park at Middleton with Jodie Sommerville and her co-worker, Ben, from Coast Care. The students spent the morning planting in the sunshine and learning about the many different species of native plants and animals that live in this local area. Students also heard about the history of the conservation park and how it has turned into a rich source of native bushland. The Year 2s planted over 135 plants adjacent to the bike path, so that they can observe the growth of these plants over time and be proud of their contribution and efforts. All the students were surprised to learn about the abundance of wildlife living in and around this beautiful landscape.
