On Tuesday 21 May, the Year 10 and 12 History students visited the Holocaust History Museum in Adelaide. World War II is an essential element of the Senior History curriculum and therefore this was a great opportunity for students to engage further with their knowledge of World War II and specifically the Holocaust.
Each student was provided with a worksheet to fill out about a Holocaust survivor. As they walked through, they were able to gain more knowledge and understanding of each survivor and what they endured. It was clear that the students were shocked and amazed at what they were learning and looking at. The students were able to make connections to the information and events that they have been learning about at school. By the end of the first session, the students had a lot of questions; luckily, they had fantastic historians and volunteers who could answer their questions.
It was an eye-opening experience for the students and teachers that they will never forget.
