Reconciliation Week is a national campaign, running 27 May – 3 June, celebrating and building on respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.

During this week, the City of Victor Harbor Library and Fleurieu Families hosted a dreamtime workshop titled: NGARRINDJERI RAMINDJERI. Dreamtime stories and art work with Cedric Varcoe.

Our Year 4 and Year 6 classes participated in this excellent workshop. Cedric Varcoe is an artist painting the stories and dreaming of his Ngarrindjeri country, from the Lower River Murray Lakes to the Coorong over to Kangaroo Island. Cedric introduced himself, detailing his background followed by a Welcome to Country and a Dreamtime Story. After the story, students were be invited to partake in symbolic painting, as directed by Cedric.
