Our Year 5 Camp was held at Illawonga, near Swan Reach, during Term 1 Camp Week.

This camp is an outdoor, water sports based camp which involves paddle boats, swimming, knee boarding, kayaking, an ecological boat trip, caving, gymnastics and archery. We were blessed this year with sensational, sunny weather.

The program also included a sheep shearing show at Big Bend, where the students were involved in learning about different breeds of sheep, how to shear sheep, bid on sheep at an auction and learn how to crack a whip.

There were many camp highlights!

For most students the knee boarding or the gymnastics proved most popular.  The camp had a gymnasium set up with a foam pit.  This gymnasium was initially set up for the Australian gymnasts to train at many years ago, so it was fully equipped with everything including trampoline, parallel bars, uneven bars, mini tramp, rings, beam and, of course, the foam pit where they played hide and seek.

A huge thank you to parent Chris Oxford whose support was extremely valuable!
