Year 6 students from our Goolwa Campus gathered together to celebrate their graduation from Junior School.

With the spectacular views of the River Murray from the Fleurieu Function Centre, students and their extended families shared a special meal. Capably hosted by the eloquent Myla Wegener and Lucy Warren, families were treated to a series of tear-evoking photo presentations and highlights from the  students’ time in classes, from Reception to Year 6. The students also performed a song, collaboratively written with their Music teacher, Mrs Alison Alcorn. Playing ukulele, guitar and cajon, students sang  their thanks for the support of parents and others throughout their time in Junior School.

It was truly a night to celebrate the significant growth and maturity we have witnessed developing in each of the students, with the students demonstrating confidence and excellent communication skills throughout the night.

As the pink hues spread across sky and water, students were reminded that they have the power to choose the direction of their lives from here on in. They choose their mindset, their opportunities, their direction. With the reassurance of God’s presence with us always, sustaining us in every way, no matter the circumstances, we have nothing to fear.

Grateful thanks goes to the staff at the Fleurieu Function Centre for their support for the Year 6 Graduation dinners over the years.
