Investigator recognised as a world-class school!

Thursday, 17 August 2023
Investigator College was recently presented on the international stage, and reaffirmed as a world-class school, as educational leaders from around the world gathered at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA) for a week-long seminar to share their visions for the future of education across the globe.

It was an honour to be one of only two South Australian Colleges (both Anglican!) included at a full-week seminar at Harvard University Graduate School of Education (USA) recently. The reactions from leading Principals from around the world have been overwhelmingly positive and serve as an inspiration to continue the College’s upward trajectory.

As a world-class school, Investigator students are engaged in personalised learning experiences- an acknowledgement of the fact that they are all different and at varying stages of stages of their  learning journeys. Both collaborative and independent learning – and investigative opportunities – are given emphasis, with students striving for personal best achievements. Students engage in 21st Century learning experiences, including entrepreneurial opportunities, global Teams meetings, creativity seminars, robotics, sustainability, solving world problems in agriculture and co-creation of learning opportunities- yet manners, values education, social etiquette, strengths awareness and leadership development remain key considerations in our future focus.

As a world-class College, student, staff and community wellbeing form the very heart of our programs. Respect, kindness, optimism, integrity and resilience are key features as all stakeholders strive to be their best selves, which includes ‘giving back.’ Investigator students are confident but not arrogant, poised to have a positive impact on the world in a nurturing, Anglican environment. They are ‘future ready.’

Investigator students benefit from an inspiring environment. Spacious classrooms with serene outlooks, a lush playing field, sports courts, vegetable plots, animal yards, a beautifully appointed Food Technology kitchen, a Performing Arts Theatre and playgrounds are complemented by a stunning nature play area, where pro-social skills are fostered. Stage one of our Masterplan also features an Innovation Centre with robotics and creativity labs and a stunning new library.  To be truly world-class a college must extend beyond standard offerings, evidenced by our magnificent waterfront Eco-Centre at Currency Creek -the only one of its kind in Australia- enabling students to achieve national certification in conservation, land management and sustainability.

As a world-class College, families need to feel a sense of belonging. Strong connections are encouraged with the dedicated staff with whom they work in partnership, and both Year 12 results and the graduate qualities attained on the incredible Investigator journey (which begins in our fabulous ELC!) give students the option of doing whatever they wish in the years beyond.

How fortunate we are to have a recognised world-class College right here on the South Coast. Families seeking optimum outcomes no longer need to drive to Adelaide. Following the affirmations received from the world’s leading educators, I feel immensely proud and privileged to be working with you – developing authentic connections with providing pathways that set all up students -no matter what their passion or strengths might be- to be successful, fulfilled citizens who are definitely making the world a better place.
