A Grandparents Day Poem Written by Anthea Sibly

On grandparents day we went to school
But today we couldn’t behave like a fool.
We were there to see our grandees day place
And they whipped us around at a frantic pace.
First was assembly where we all gathered as one
Some guitar was played and some songs were sung.
Then half of the crew had to go off and play
While others had scones, as they got to stay.
We swapped a half time it was only fair
We had to let others have their scone share.
So off to the classrooms we went with our crew
To see what interesting things we could do.
Questions and games that tested our brains
Then off for some craft and badges with names.
With no time to waste we travelled the grounds
We had great fun with our grandchildren around.
So thank you to all from the cooks to the crew
It wouldn’t have been a success without you.
‘Till another year passes and we get an invite
Will we come again? Yes we think we just might.
