The competition, which commenced with over 25 schools from across the state, culminated in a thrilling final day held at The Lights Community and Sports Centre on Friday, 17 November.

The team’s success can be attributed to their unwavering commitment and hard work in the leadup to the competition. The girls demonstrated dedication by engaging in rigorous before-school and lunchtime training sessions, fine-tuning their skills and enhancing their teamwork. This diligent preparation was pivotal in propelling them to the top tier of schools competing in the finals.

Their journey to victory began with a triumph in the Year 7/8 Volleyball Fleurieu Cup last term, and they seamlessly carried this momentum into the Statewide Knockout competition. The girls exhibited a remarkable passion for improvement, fostering a culture of positivity and teamwork. Their collective efforts and positive mindset were evident on the court, where their synchronised play and determination proved to be the winning formula. The Year 7/8 Girls Volleyball team’s success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and collaborative spirit, making them deserving champions of the competition.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to our dedicated coach, Ms Sarah Shaw, whose guidance and support played a crucial role in the girls success. With a simple yet profound sentiment, Ms Shaw expressed, “I just love watching them play,” capturing the essence of the team’s passion, skill, and joy on the court.
