These were the experiences that created lasting memories. Camps, sport, and the musical were just a few. In 2024, not only do we continue to offer these experiences, but we have built on them significantly. In this term alone, we have so much to reflect on and enjoy… and it is only Week 6.
Here are some highlights, with many more to come:
- The Year 11 & 12 Formal at One Paddock Winery, Currency Creek– always the highlight of the Senior School experience.
- Reconciliation Week – this included classroom activities, a visit to the local library by our Year 12 child-studies students and Year 3s, a smoking ceremony for ELC-Year to 12, and the 7-12 assembly run by our wellbeing leaders, featuring our regular Ngarrindjeri icon, Uncle Cedric.
- Brainstorm Productions presented to our Year 7 & 8 students – this was a targeted program on resilience and anti-bullying.
- Netball, volleyball, athletics, basketball, and mountain biking.
- Da Vinci Decathlons.
- Day of Hope presentation for our Year 9s, presented by former Young Australian of the Year (Qld, Community Service) and popular high school speaker Glen Gerreyn.
The focus of this presentation is the social and emotional wellbeing of our young people. - World Environment Day – a chance to dress up in green and encourage awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
Coming up later this term:
- Year 12 Mid-Year Retreat. Our very first one, as we camp out together at our beautiful Currency Creek site.
- Senior School Information Night – please join us as we share important information about our subject offerings, SACE/VET pathways, and showcase our beautiful Senior School building.
- A 7-12 chapel, led by our visiting Anglican Reverend, Tracey Gracey.
- The Year 11 Winter Sleepout – a first for Investigator, as we will sleep overnight in our gym to raise money and awareness for the homeless in SA, partnered with Anglicare.
- The 2024 Musical – this year, our committed staff and students will be presenting Into the Woods Jnr. Don’t forget to purchase your tickets.
On top of these wonderful opportunities, our dedicated staff also offer weekly clubs and training sessions for:
- Art Club
- Tabletop Games Club
- Volleyball and Basketball
No wonder the term feels so busy. Extra-curricular activities play a crucial role in the holistic development of students at Investigator. They provide invaluable experiences that foster personal growth, enhance academic performance, and prepare students for future success. We thank you all for your continued support of these programs and look forward to seeing many of you at these upcoming events.
