Canteen Manager

About This Role

Investigator College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Canteen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our school’s canteen. The Canteen Manager will ensure the provision of appealing meals and snacks for students and staff. This role involves menu planning, food preparation, service, maintaining food safety standards, managing inventory, and leading a small team of volunteers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Menu Planning: Design and develop a varied, healthy, and appealing menu that caters to the needs and preferences of students and staff.
• Food Preparation: Prepare meals daily, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
• Service Management: Oversee the daily service of food, taking money, ensuring efficient and friendly service to all canteen customers.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate a small team of dedicated volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Inventory Management: Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
• Customer Interaction: Engage positively with students, staff, and parents, fostering a welcoming canteen environment.

This role offers approximately 37.5 hours of work per week over five days during term time only, making it ideal for someone seeking a flexible and rewarding position.
