Warm welcomes just in time for the Buddy Bench

Wednesday, 31 July 2024
Welcome back to the second half of the year. Hopefully all of our Investigator families had an enjoyable break, and the students have returned refreshed and ready to learn as well as enjoy the second half of the year.

The new term is especially exciting as we have a brand-new class that has commenced under the guidance of Ms Gemma Lovell. We also welcome Jennifer Spick who is teaching some of our junior primary Japanese classes for the remainder of the year.

The Reception classes also have new furniture! This is the first stage of an annual upgrade for year levels and they have assured me that they will take very good care of their lovely new desks and chairs.

Our Prep Class

The following students have commenced their schooling journey under the calm and nurturing guidance of Ms Lovell. Welcome to Elsie (Blue Gum), Cassandra (Waratah), Hunter (Blue Gum), Maisy (Blue Gum), Lennox (Waratah), Josiah (Wattle), Hayden (Banksia), Peggy (Waratah), Brooklyn (Blue Gum) and Lily (Blue Gum).

Other new Junior School students:

We are also delighted to welcome a number of students who are starting their learning journey at Investigator.

Levi has joined Mr Taylor’s Year 6 class and Blue Gum House. Jasper has joined Mrs Bruce in Year 5 and Banksia House. Isabella has commenced in Mrs Detmar’s Year 5 class and Blue Gum House. Mrs Garner’s Year 3 class has welcomed Jacob (Blue Gum) and Patrick (Waratah). In Year 1 Kiara has moved from Murray Bridge to join Mrs Bollenhagen’s class (Blue Gum). In Reception, Mrs Willcocks has welcomed Ollie (Banksia House).

In our every growing Early Learning Centre we have recently had a number of students commence their time at Investigator. Welcome to Albert (Waratah), Cooper (Banksia), Otto (Blue Gum), Walter (Waratah), Mackenzie (Wattle), Remy (Waratah) and Kida (Wattle). Sunny (Wattle) and Solomon (Banksia) start very soon. Claire (Waratah) started with us during last term.

Buddy bench

In a project that has been over 12 months in the making, the student-driven Buddy Bench is finally completed. It has been collaborative exercise between our school tech department and the Student Representative Committee (SRC) Representatives from each class. If a child doesn’t have someone to play with, they can have a seat on the Buddy Bench and a community-minded peer will come and invite them to play.
