Welcome to Term 3. I hope that you were able to take the opportunity, during the holidays, to spend some valuable time with your families. There are lots of great things planned for Term 3 and lots to look forward to.
Both Year 3 and Year 6 have camps planned this term. The programs for both camps look fantastic and the students are very much looking forward to them. Camps are a very memorable part of a child’s schooling and a lot of time and effort goes into the planning. We thank the teachers for their work in organising these special experiences for our students and we look forward to hearing about the experiences of the students on the camps.
This is one of our favourite weeks on the College calendar. At Investigator College we love to celebrate reading and throughout Book Week we have a number of activities planned.
On Tuesday 23 August the ELC/Junior School students are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or to get creative with this year’s theme, ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open…’ If students would like to bring along the book that inspired their costume, they are more than welcome to do so.
I am very much looking forward to this special week.
Science Week is another important week on the College calendar and this year we have a number of activities planned. The theme for 2022 Science Week is ‘Glass: more than meets the eye’.
Father’s Day Breakfast
In Week 6, we have a Father’s Day Breakfast planned, more details to come… This will be a great opportunity to get together as a community. We look forward to catching up with all of our dads/caregivers on this special day.
RUOK and Friendship Day
In Week 7, we will be having a special ‘Friendship Day’ as part of the Whole School RUOK Day. This year classes across the Junior School have been focusing on developing their Friendship skills as part of the Friendology program.
Welcome New Families
We have a number of new families that have joined us this term. Across the Junior School we have 15 new students. It is great to hear how welcoming the community has been. We also take this opportunity to welcome 12 new students into the ELC.
In addition to welcoming new students we would like to take this opportunity to welcome Mrs Rosy Ulcoq, Year 4.2, and we also welcome the return of Mrs Stephanie Gurner who is back from maternity leave.
Currency Creek EcoCentre
There will be lots happening for our Junior School and ELC students at our Currency Creek EcoCentre this term. Our ELC students will be visiting the site in Week 6. Mrs Amy Vitkunas has arranged for Playgroup to visit at our Currency Creek EcoCentre too!
Our Year 4 students and Year 6 students will be hosting visits from St John’s Grammar school at Currency Creek. This will be a great opportunity for our students to share their learning and connect with students from another Anglican School.
This Term we also have several Principal’s tours (see below). If you have any friends or family that would like to attend, please encourage them to book a spot.
We are looking forward to a fantastic Term 3!
