Dear Parents/Caregivers,
An Exciting Time To Be At Investigator
It is with delight that I write to inform you of some developments at Investigator in 2022.
Two Deputy Principals in 2022
Following external consultation regarding leadership structured for a College of our size, in 2022, Investigator College will have two Deputy Principals:
Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning (Andrew Panozzo) and
Deputy Principal – Operations (and Head of a School).
I write to announce that, following independent consultation, the Deputy Principal – Operations position has been won by our Head of Middle School, Scott McGregor.
Scott, who is currently studying a Master of Educational Leadership, has been a leader in four (including three Anglican) schools and demonstrated to the panel a particular passion for strategic, operational and organisational matters. Reflecting on his six leadership roles across the four schools, Scott has also pursued his interest in fiscal strategy, stakeholder management, leadership styles and wellbeing. I am certain you all join me in congratulating Scott.
Assistant Head of Middle School
Scott will retain his role as Head of Middle School (a model used in many colleges) and will be supported next year by an Assistant Head of Middle School, ensuring an even greater commitment to student and staff wellbeing.
Future Focus Leader (FFL)
This is a new role to enable 21st century innovation from Reception – Year 6 through to STEP offerings. We want entrepreneurship, project-based learning, coding, problem-solving, robotics, 3D printing and other areas of innovation to feature as hallmarks of the Investigator experience. We want to compete at a local, state, national and, later, international level in a variety of interschool competitions and the successful applicant will drive our growth in these areas.
Head of Sport
Again, we want Sport and co-curricular offerings to be features of the R-12 Investigator experience. Investigator is allocating strategic and administrative time to this position as we are genuine in our pursuit to educate the whole child.
Additional Counsellor time
We are doubling our Counsellor time in 2022, offering additional support for our students which, in turn, supports our staff and families. I am sure that knowing we have excellent counselling available on site is reassuring.
Expansion of our ICT team
As we move forwards and introduce BYOD from Year 7 in 2022, and are currently investigating the most suitable Learning Management System for Investigator, we also need to expand the staffing of this vital area.
Chaplain
We are hoping to secure a new Anglican Chaplain who is able to begin in time for end of year services, including Speech Day. We have been successful in obtaining a grant and discussions are progressing with Bishop of The Murray Keith Dalby.
Thank you
This is a really exciting time to be at Investigator. Thank you for your contribution by spreading the good word and for working in partnership to ensure that Investigator is always a College which focuses on moving onwards and upwards – in the interest of helping students and staff be the best possible versions of themselves.
A Star Performer
I write to inform you, with mixed emotions, that our outstanding Campus Coordinator, Melanie Scott, has accepted the position of Coordinator of SACE/Logistics at Sacred Heart College – Marcellin Campus to commence in 2022.
A star performer at Investigator since 2013, Melanie has played a remarkable role in enabling our College to thrive and will be greatly missed.
I know you all join me in thanking Melanie for her tremendous work here, and in offering our hearty congratulations on securing this sought-after position at Sacred Heart.
COVID Restrictions
Thank you for your efforts to keep South Australia safe. As inconvenient as it might be, it is essential that students exhibiting any symptoms do not attend until they have received medical clearance. Victor Harbor is fortunate to have the Southern Fleurieu Health Service COVID Testing Clinic on Bay Road, open 9:00am – 5:00pm seven days a week.
