Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Tell your friends – classes for 2022 are almost full!

Very few places remain so please let any friends seeking an education on par with the best private schools of Adelaide that they need to get their skates on. Investigator College is the only Anglican College on the South Coast and it is going from strength to strength.

A new focus on Sport

Congratulations to Andrew Palumbo who impressed an external panel, and consequently won our new Head of Sport position over high-quality candidates from around Australia and New Zealand. Sporting opportunities will now be a feature of Investigator through to Year 12. Watch this space!

Additional leadership position in the Middle School

We also employed an external consultant to find us an outstanding educator and leader to fill our new Assistant Head of Middle School position.

A clear winner was Tom Hancock, currently Head of Pastoral Care at Trinity College North Middle School and previously Senior Master, Head of House and Head of Boarding at All Souls St Gabriels School in Queensland.

Extremely highly regarded as a Mathematics teacher and leader at Trinity, Tom previously taught Years 7 – 12 in Mathematics, Economics, Legal Studies and Accounting.

Tom is trained in Positive Education through Geelong Grammar School and is extremely experienced at promoting both student and staff wellbeing, as well as leading signature Middle School experiences and community engagement. He looks forward to meeting you all soon.

Parents and Friends Committee is back!

I was privileged last week to join our fabulous new P&F team at its Annual General Meeting.

Congratulations to the new executive team.

President – Dom Perre

Secretary – Ali Bloomfield

Treasurer – Almond Sparrow

The teachers have arranged class representatives for almost every year level. Please contact Alice Hendy (ahendy@investigator.sa.edu.au) if you did not attend the first meeting but are still keen to be involved.

The P&F is about building relationships and bringing our special community together. We want your experience at Investigator to be as memorable as that of the students. It feels good to give back to your child’s school, and as staff members, we love the strength of the partnerships we forge with you.

Speech Day

Please mark Thursday 2 December firmly in your diaries as Speech Day is an important celebration of a brilliant year for every member of the Investigator College community. Our guest speaker this year is Olympic marathon runner Jessica Stenson (née Trengove). This event is importantly during the day, enabling students to celebrate the achievements of others and to aspire to being their best selves. The event will be live-streamed so there is no excuse to miss it.

Connections with leading schools

This continues to be a focus at Investigator as we maintain the highest possible standards which set your children up for the best possible futures. Gone are the days of needing to finish at a high fee school in the city. Investigator families can have it all: a world class education in a superb coastal setting and now with a strong focus on Sport, too. Go Investigator!

COVID Restrictions

Thank you for your efforts to keep South Australia safe. As inconvenient as it might be, it is essential that students exhibiting any symptoms do not attend until they have received medical clearance. Victor Harbor is fortunate to have the Southern Fleurieu Health Service COVID Testing Clinic on Bay Road, open 9:00am – 5:00pm seven days a week.
