As you are aware, the Commissioner of Police, acting in his role as the State Coordinator responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, has announced the Emergency Management (Education and Early Childhood Settings Vaccination) (COVID-19) Direction 2021.
This Direction requires all individuals to receive at least one dose of a Therapeutic Goods Association approved COVID-19 vaccination and a booking to receive a second dose by 10 December 2021, except those who have a medical exemption endorsed by the Chief Public Health Officer.
The Direction applies to all employees, OSHC providers, volunteers, parent helpers, contractors and service providers either engaged by the school or contracted to provided services to the school.
Please be assured that Investigator College has implemented measures to ensure compliance with the Direction by 10 December 2021.
Staff are currently planning rich learning experiences for 2022 – including camps and excursions – and the number of venues requiring a COVID “double vaccination” certificate for entry grows steadily. Several of these venues are currently part of our programs (e.g. Adelaide and Monarto Zoos and Adelaide Oval). The proof of COVID vaccination requirement for these venues applies to all persons aged 12 and above (unless they have an endorsed medical exemption).
Like you, we are trying to navigate these difficult times and would not want any of our students to miss any of these important educational and pastoral offerings. Whilst the decision whether or not to have children currently vaccinated rests with the family (vaccines have been approved for children from 12 years), there is every likelihood that the number of venues that will require proof of vaccination will increase.
We will continue to send through information as it comes to hand.
