Dear Parents/Caregivers,

The Future looks bright at Investigator

“Obstacles are those frightful things that you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” -Henry Ford

With a staggered start to the school year for all South Australian students, 2022 is definitely a year when we are required to be positive, flexible and creative.

At Investigator we need to be agile and forward-thinking, as we are determined not to respond to restrictions with a ‘cancel culture’.

With assemblies not permitted, students and staff have adapted effectively to Zoom assemblies. Our usual Commencement Service was also against the rules, so the service has been transformed into a glossy booklet which will be coming home shortly. Please look out for this and see our new staff, student leaders and Year 12 prize winners, among other information.

Masterplan

2022 is a great year to be at Investigator as we begin our Master Planning process. Your survey answers will help us approach the future with optimism and we are so excited at the prospect of building state-of-the-art facilities that can transform learning. Whilst our buildings have served us well since our beginning, education has progressed during that time and who better than the experienced school architects at Walter Brook and Associates to set us up for the next 20 years. An exciting new era awaits! Thank you also for your feedback on the College’s performance. The overall satisfaction rating given was 8.3 out of a possible 10. Good but always with scope for improvement, parents who said they were happy to be contacted will hear from the College for a discussion sometime soon.

Strategic Plan

We also have a solid yet agile new Strategic Plan to guide us upwards. Among the features of this plan are:

  • Strong, informed governance
  • Connections to Adelaide’s top colleges, enabling broader opportunities that set students up for a successful future
  • Data analysis and the adoption of teaching methodologies to lift our already high standards, made possible through the restructure of our Senior Leadership Team, where Andrew Panozzo (Deputy Principal -Teaching and Learning) is now positioned to drive this
  • Increased Junior School literacy levels
  • Stronger community liaison, including with Old Collegians and past parents
  • Robust links with industry, universities and other providers of pathways for students
  • A much greater focus on sport, entrepreneurship, service learning, music and co-curricular offerings.

The future is looking bright at Investigator and we are delighted to have you on board.

John Robinson
Principal
