Dear Parents/Caregivers,
The Best Day at School Ever!
Friday morning was a time of sheer delight. Thank you for supporting our first ‘Dogs in the Quad’ morning as we search for innovative ways for our community to reconnect. Seeing the sheer joy on the faces of students, parents, grandparents and staff made me realise how much we have missed getting together during the pandemic. The dogs were an absolute hit and a number of children commented that this was the best day at school ever! This really was Positive Education in its purest form – an example of authentic wellbeing, not just words. I am saddened to think that some schools actually ban canine family members!
This year we are fortunate to have two chaplains join our College. Alison Dutton, who has a great interest in youth ministry, has joined our team, and ordained minister Reverend Jonathan Jackson will begin soon. Again, evidencing creativity in the face if COVID, this dynamic duo presented three Easter services for the students via Zoom.
Thank you for your ongoing support this term. It has not been an easy time, with most families touched by COVID in some way, but the circuit breaker of a two-week holiday will be well received and should leave us all poised for a fabulous Term 2.
Wishing you all a safe and relaxing Easter and holiday period. Please note that lessons resume in Tuesday 3 May.
