A Life Well Lived

This week there was a touch of sadness in the school yard as students, staff and parents alike came to terms with the passing of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II.

Although Her Majesty never had the pleasure of visiting, it is clear that as Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England (Anglican Church), Her Majesty would have been in support of the directions of Investigator College, and I have included some examples of our synergy below:

  1. Respect of ourselves and of others. The Queen’s actions exemplified integrity and selflessness. Her dedication to others over her seventy-year reign can only be described as remarkable.
  2. Respect for animals and the environment. Just imagine how much Queen Elizabeth would have loved our ‘Dogs in the Quad’ event, our equestrian team, our lambs, calves and our EcoCentre at Currency Creek. She understood the links between animals and wellbeing, the need to protect our precious environment and to take immediate and ongoing action against climate change.
  3. Kindness and resilience. These are two of the most important outcomes of Investigator’s Positive Education program and the Queen shone as an exceptional example of both. She was also a role model of decency and brought so much joy to millions of people within – and outside of – the Commonwealth and the Anglican Church.

Please note that Investigator College will observe the National Day of Mourning through the Public Holiday on Thursday, 22 September, 2022. The entire College (ELC- Year 12) will be closed.

Going, going, Gone!

Please contact your friends and colleagues and tell them to email Elly Parker immediately, as very few places remain after an enormous College tour yesterday. The word is clearly out there! Investigator College is the only Anglican College on the South Coast and only Investigator students benefit from a brother-sister school connection to Adelaide’s finest private schools. 2023 promises to be our best year yet and I look forward to sharing exciting news with you in future editions.
