Aboriginal Artist Cedric Varcoe has very generously painted the Aboriginal Dreaming story of Ngurunderi as a mural out at our Currency Creek EcoCentre.

Cedric painted the mural during the ‘Hello Fleurieu’ Festival, run by Ideas On The Fleurieu, and hosted by Investigator College at the EcoCentre on Sunday 28 July.  Investigator College Year 11 students Georgia Harrington and Jasmine Webb assisted with the project.

Cedric feels a real connection to our Currency Creek site and has previously spent time with some of our Junior School students, teaching basket weaving. He is very keen to be involved in what we are doing. It’s so exciting to have this Aboriginal connection. Cedric wants us to know his stories and he is keen to share with us.

The painting is pretty special and adds a really important component to our site. We are so thankful to Cedric for sharing this with us.
