Our Year 7 students will benefit from the launch of a new wellbeing program, ‘Well-Being Wonders’, as we look to continue our commitment to outstanding student wellbeing across the Middle Years of education at Investigator College.

Developed by our Year 7 teaching staff as part of an ongoing project with the Association of Independent Schools of South Australia (AISSA), and tailored to cater to a range of interests, ‘Well-Being Wonders’ will dive into the key facets of well-being, covering areas of mental health, physical, cultural, emotional, social and financial wellbeing.

Centred around five key elements – connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give – the program will provide a solid framework to guide students toward being their best selves. At the heart of the program lies an exciting task: students get to explore their passions. With the freedom to select a well-being topic that resonates with them, they are set on a path to craft their own passion project. This project encourages them to delve deep into their chosen theme, exploring both its positive and negative aspects.

The apex of their journey will be a engaging showcase, where students will unveil their discoveries to parents and caregivers at the end of year event. Through this platform, students not only enhance their understanding of their chosen well-being topic but also polish their presentation and communication abilities.

‘Well-Being Wonders’ represents a range of exciting new opportunities for our Year 7 students, as well as an opportunity for our staff to put their learnings from recent professional development and research activities into practice, helping to ensure that Investigator College retains it’s position as a leader in Positive Education on the South Coast.

We look forward to the launch of this exciting program, and encourage parents, caregivers and families to continuing working alongside our Year 7 staff as we explore an additional approach to wellbeing and look to extend its impact beyond the classroom, foster personal growth and promote greater self-awareness through the passions and interests of our students.
