Last week we congratulated our Year 12 class of 2023, including Willem Dunkley for winning Dux of the entire Fleurieu Peninsula. Willem shared advice for younger students, including to begin working hard well before reaching Senior School, to have some fun and relaxation between study sessions and to be grateful to your parents. Words of wisdom indeed!
The positivity among the staff has reached new heights this year, with great new programs being introduced, a research-based restructure of our sub-schools and investment into strengthening Investigator’s lead in areas of robotics, enterprise, wellbeing and sustainability.
Another exciting development will be the beginning of construction of Investigator College’s new Innovation Centre (pictured above), anticipated to be an icon on the South Coast and central to the education, opportunities, pride and connection of all Investigator students and families.
As you know we are blessed with exceptional staff at Investigator, committed beyond belief to helping every student be his or her best self. This year we have attracted more stars to the team.
Grant Bock – Head of Junior School
Grant is one of the most highly regarded Junior School leaders in Australia. As well as being Head of Westminster Preparatory School (ELC- Year 6) since 2010, Grant was also Acting Principal of the whole of Westminster in 2016 and 2017, was based in Dubai for 2 years as Assistant Director of the Principal Advisor Program For the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates, and before that was Deputy Head of St Peter’s College Junior School.
Grant is also well known for his membership on numerous national educational and leadership boards and committees. Please come and meet Grant if you haven’t already!
Michelle Brougham – ELC Director
Michelle was previously Operations Manager, overseeing ELC Directors at nine Green Leaves Early Learning sites. She is excited about working in our beautiful boutique centre, with strong programs for 3 and 4 year olds, in addition to playgroup.
Jacelyn Anderson
An accomplished teacher of Agriculture, Sustainability, Science and Environmental Studies, Jacelyn has moved South from Centralian Middle School in Alice Springs.
Jacelyn is delighted to be living and working near some of the state’s most beautiful beaches and is really excited about Investigator’s iconic waterfront EcoCentre at Currency Creek.
Georgina Thomas
A former high-achieving student at Investigator (and participant in national surfing competitions), Georgina has now returned to teach and inspire a new generation of budding superstars (and surfers!) in Health, Maths, Science and Business Innovation.
Emma Carter
Emma was a much-loved and highly regarded teacher here who transferred to another region after the birth of her son.
We are so excited to welcome Emma back to Investigator where she will again excel in roles including teaching English, Food Technology and Home Group.
Sophie Hunt
McLaren Vale’s loss is definitely our gain as Sophie has already earned a reputation here as a fabulous Year 2 teacher. Sophie is also an Investigator College parent.
Carly Bollenhagen
Recently married and returning from Coober Pedy (and before that in London teaching Year 1 at Tidemill Academy), Carly is a great, experienced addition to our strong Junior School team, teaching Year 1 this year.
Jess Pater
Well known in our community after successfully completing a contract in 2023, we are delighted to welcome Jess back to release leaders in Years 4 and 6.
Jen Luxford
A big welcome to Jess Luxford from Victor Harbor Primary School, who joins our hardworking and very supportive Learning Strategies Team.
Jen is also a parent of 3 children here and is currently undertaking further study.
Odette Latacevski – Database Administrator
Formerly IT Manager at Disability Living in Adelaide, Odette is a great addition to our IT Team.
A parent of 2 students at Investigator and living on beautiful Hindmarsh Island, Odette is making the most of the South Coast lifestyle.
Jackson Robertshaw – Sustainable Futures Officer
Another former Investigator student, Jackson has been studying Environmental Science and volunteering at our ‘jewel-in-the-crown’ EcoCentre.
Jackson has won a new part-time position, necessitated by the popularity of our unique programs.
I feel so proud to be leading our outstanding team. Please get involved in 2024, build a strong relationship with the staff and enjoy all Investigator College has to offer.
