Reflecting on Term 1, it has also been a delight to connect with so many of you at a variety of events, including coffee mornings, Information Evening, Sports Days, Dogs In the Quad, assemblies, Open Day, P&F meetings, our Environmental presentation at St Peter’s Anglican Cathedral – and even our chats and waves in the carpark. It feels good to be part of such a supportive community and such a committed staff team.

Jodie O’Donnell – Head of Secondary School

Responding in the best interests of our students, following Mr Hancock’s leave due to ill health, I feel proud to announce that Jodie O’Donnell is now Head of Secondary School (Years 7-12).

Our already strong Middle Years Pastoral Team is further bolstered by Year 7 Coordinator Raji Kaur and Year 8 Coordinator David Marks, and I know many of you are enjoying the new focus on Home Groups in 2024, with the highly regarded Home Group teachers spending more time teaching their respective classes.

At the Senior level, Jodie is strongly supported by Simone Bonser and Nicole Ransom, in addition to numerous Faculty and other leaders, including Deputy Principal and Head of Year 7-12 Teaching and Learning Scott McGregor.

Some say that Jodie leaves no stone unturned!

She is passionate, fair and entirely committed to helping each student attain his or her best possible outcome.

We are so fortunate to have a Secondary leader of this calibre on the Fleurieu.

Grant Bock – Head of Junior School

Recently awarded a life membership of the Australian Primary Principals Association (APPA), we are indeed blessed to have one of Australia’s most acclaimed and respected Junior School leaders at the helm.

We are all enjoying the creativity, perspective, wisdom and energy that Grant brings to this role, and having also set up the ELC during his headship at Westminster, his oversight enables seamless transition across the sub-schools.

Grant is really enjoying the support he receives from his dedicated leadership team.

Michelle Brougham – ELC Director

Our ELC, affectionately known as Little Investigators, is on fire this year!

Michelle and her highly effective team have welcomed so many new families who are seeking the best possible start for their children. Located adjacent to our Junior Primary classrooms, transition into our mid-year Prep class (places filling fast!) is just so smooth.

Please contact Enrolments Officer Elly Parker on 8555 7511 or enrolments@investigator.sa.edu.au to secure your child’s place in the ELC, Prep or any other classes!

How proud do I feel to be leading the dream team!

This is our final edition for Term 1, with the term concluding on Friday 12 April at 3:30pm.

We regret to advise that our Head of Marketing and Community Engagement, Liam Hensel, has tendered his resignation, effective over the holiday break. We are grateful for the wonderful work Liam has done since beginning at Investigator in this new role in 2022 and wish him every success in his promising future.

Wishing you all a restful and safe two-week break and thank you again for your unwavering support.

Lessons resume on Tuesday 30 April.

Farewelling the class of 2024

This week is a significant week in the lives of our 2024 Year 12 students. This is the final, official week of school for them all. We have celebrated them in style with a variety of Spirit Week activities: dress-up as your future career, op-shop day, signing of college shirts, Staff v Year 12 students in volleyball and netball. The spirit and life around the College have been tremendous all week, but of course there have been a few tears.

A passport to do amazing things!

As parents we all want the very best for our children. We spend time pondering which school will give him or her the best opportunities, we worry about which class group or teacher will fit best, we sometimes stress over homework expectations, report comments or whether or not they won a place in a sporting team, College Musical or a leadership role.
