Our Year 3 classes had a wonderful day learning more about Aboriginal culture. Uncle Tamaru, a Kaurna elder, was welcomed by one of our Ngarrindjeri students before sharing his knowledge and language with the students. The students explored tools and artefacts used for hunting and gathering, and even played some games to practise their hunting skills. Uncle used ochre to paint on their faces and shared stories using symbols. The students painted their own boomerangs to share their story with symbols. It was a great day for everyone to learn how our cultures work together.
