The Year 6s had a demonstration of sublimation using dry ice last week with our College lab assistant, Audrey, to finish off our Chemical Sciences unit.

Sublimation is a phase change where a solid changes to a gas, instead of what would normally happen – solid, liquid, gas. We also looked at how this change is affected by hot and cold water. Students had a lot of fun capturing the carbon dioxide gas inside bubbles of detergent.
