What is a geologist’s favourite fruit? A pome-granite!

The Year 8 students are currently studying rock formations in their Science lessons. To reinforce what they have been studying in class, they took part in an excursion to the Hallett Cove Geological Trail.

Hallett Cove is one of the best known geological sites in Australia because of the ancient glaciation and many of the significant events in the geological history of South Australia can be observed at Hallett Cove.

The trail took them through areas relating to geology, looking specifically at different rock formations, minerals and time scales of events that have shaped our planet over the past 600 million years!
