Our Year 9s attended the Rite Journey Camp in the last week of Term 3. Students slept in small groups, in tents for the three nights, and also completed a solo night where they slept alone. Students worked together to cook meals on trangias and over a camp fire.
The Year 9s had the incredible opportunity of spending a day with an Aboriginal Kaurna elder, Uncle Tamaroo, learning about the culture of the local Kaurna people and the usefulness of native plants. Students spent a day hiking the Onkaparinga Gorge, with challenges for all.
The students valued the four days of technology-free time together and were so grateful for the opportunity to share this experience. It was a wonderful time!
